Responsibilities The Student Program Coordinator serves as a leader in the Programming area with a focus on advising members of Union Productions, the campus programming organization, and leading campus-wide programming initiatives.

    Assist in the development of Welcome Week programs and Family Weekend and other large-scale events.Oversee the daily operations of the Club Downunder, a student run venue in the new Union to be used daily by Union Productions, including staffing, deposits, custodial, security, food service, and procurement of supplies.Serve as professional staff at 2-3 evening events per week, including weekends. This includes planning, implementing, and supporting year-round programs, summer orientation, and late-night program.

    Develop, distribute, and compile assessment and evaluation instruments among participants in Student Union programs.

    Attend student committee, Union Productions Staff, as well as Union Staff meetings to gain understanding of the Student Union role within the Division of Student Affairs

    Provided budgetary support for $300,000 and support events that generate revenue.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalency and six years of experience.

(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Attention to student needs, and the ability to relate to a diverse student, faculty, administrative, employer, and community population.

Willing to work nontraditional hours as necessary.

Experience with basic computer functions, to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Advanced customer service and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Preference will be given to candidates who have full time experience.

The successful candidate will be student-centered, have strong multicultural competence, and be a collaborative educator and programmer.

Experience in supervision, student programming, and advising experience preferred.

Experience with producing and advising students to create large and small campus events.

Thorough understanding of programming in a college campus setting.

Knowledge in risk management, accessibility, and safety.

Ability to relate well with student groups and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Proven success building strong partnerships and forming collaborative efforts with students, staff, and faculty.

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Will be expected to teach transferable skills in organization/delegation, organizing meetings, and ethical decision-making.

The nature and scope of this position requires late evening and weekend work and necessitates a high level of sustainable energy and commitment.

Schedule

If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5. Weekends and additional hours as necessary.
