JOB SUMMARY

Under the directions of the Associate Director of Experiential Global Learning (EGL), and as part of the EGL team, the Custom Programs Coordinator will assist in the administration and delivery of UConn’s customized programs. The incumbent is expected to work simultaneously on multiple programs, requiring the ability to multitask with great attention to detail.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaise and partner with UConn faculty in the development/creation of EGL programs.
  • Communicate with vendors, faculty, and students regarding custom program details.
  • Create budgets for all custom EGL programs.
  • Coordinate application maintenance and projects related to the Terra Dotta system.
  • Assist with faculty and student workshop development.
  • Maintain an understanding of university policies pertaining to EGL. Responds to inquiries from faculty, and others regarding program policies, procedures, and requirements, making referrals as appropriate.
  • Manage exchange program processes, including coordinating communication with university partners, student nominations, and exchange balance data.
  • Administer the Global Affairs Travel Registration process in Terra Dotta for UConn students and UConn Health residents and enroll them in CISI International Insurance.
  • Curate weekly lists of travelers for Global Affairs and other departments on campus.
  • Oversee the Global Affairs Travel Waiver process for UConn and UConn Health students, faculty, and staff traveling to locations listed Level 3 or 4 by the U.S. Department of State Travel Advisory system, following up with them as needed for additional clarification, coordinating signatures from approvers, and forwarding their documents to the Travel Advisory Committee.
  • Coordinate the human resources functions of EGL, including payroll, special payroll authorizations, student labor, and staff onboarding.
  • Serve as a resource to students, staff, and faculty on matters relating to risk management policies and procedures.
  • Participate in EGL fairs, campus events, and other programming.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  2. At least 4 years of related experience.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office and related software applications
  4. Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
  5. Demonstrated excellent communication skills
  6. Demonstrated skill in collaborating with individuals of diverse cultural, social, and educational backgrounds

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Knowledge of Study Abroad Application systems
  2. Experience with basic accounting and budgeting principles
  3. Ability to perform multi-step processing, troubleshooting, and data reconciliation
  4. Ability to assemble and organize data and prepare reports
  5. Experience with risk management principles and practices
