Trinity Christian College seeks a full-time Assistant Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations for the Chicago Semester program.  The Assistant Director of Advancement & Alumni Relations works in collaboration with the Executive Director to administer all aspects of the program’s fundraising efforts. This includes but is not limited to, direct mail campaigns, donor events, donor visits, monthly email communications and quarterly supporter updates and Annual Awards Celebration planning. The Assistant Director collaborates with the Executive Director in meeting yearly fundraising goals through development of new alumni and friend relationships and ongoing touchpoints with current alumni donors and friends. The Assistant Director is part of a dynamic team of staff committed to the mission of Chicago Semester and our students as they engage urban life and culture.  As such prospective candidates must be deeply committed to forwarding the program’s strategic initiatives which include specific efforts in the area of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead all aspects of the program’s fundraising efforts to advance the mission and reach of the program to successfully meet the program’s fundraising goal for each fiscal year.
  • Lead the program’s annual Chicago Semester Fund giving campaign, spring Awards Celebration and other campaigns and events that bring support to the program.
  • Work collaboratively with the program’s executive director to plan donor events and supporter visits.
  • Provide leadership to the program’s fundraising committee, seeking opportunities to expand and explore additional fundraising opportunities.
  • Regularly connect with an assigned portfolio of program supporters. Make asks of supporters for annual gifts to the program.
  • Lead marketing and strategic communication efforts specific to fundraising priorities for the program.
  • Work with staff to build a robust list of nonprofit organizations to serve as program City Fellow sites. Make asks each year to these sites for support.
  • Work with staff to develop corporate relationships for paid internship opportunities and corporate giving opportunities. Make asks of these corporations for support.
  • Make connections with program alumni to support fundraising initiatives and develop additional internship site connections for paid internship experiences for students.
  • Lead efforts related to the program’s 2021-2024 strategic plan including the work in the area of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
  • Other duties as assigned

A bachelor’s degree and at least two years of work experience is required with a preference for experience working with advancement and/or alumni relations.  Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus.
