The Department of Psychology at The University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time instructor position to start August 16th, 2022. This is a 9-month non-tenure-earning renewable appointment of up to three years. Renewal is based upon satisfactory performance review, staffing needs, and funding. The position involves teaching and advising undergraduate students. Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in psychology or related field; experience in teaching undergraduate psychology courses; and evidence of commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Preferred qualifications include PhD in psychology or related field; experience in teaching introduction to psychology, statistics, and a variety of courses; experience with undergraduate advising; and experience integrating principles of diversity/equity/inclusion into teaching activities.



The Psychology Department has 36 faculty, approximately 1300 undergraduate majors, 900 undergraduate minors, and 100 doctoral students. It is seated within the social sciences division of the College of Arts and Sciences. The University of Alabama is a student-centered research university located in Tuscaloosa, a city of 100,000 that was named an All-America City by the National Civic League.
