Description
Reporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Coach assists in developing a Division I competitive Men’s & Women’s Cross Country program. The primary function of the Assistant Coach will be to teach student-athletes cross country and the middle- and long-distance events in women's track & field. The Assistant Coach will evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes to Temple University; whose athletic skills would allow the program to be highly competitive, and whose academic abilities make such student-athletes excellent candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation from Temple University.

The Assistant Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Coach supports the Head Coach by providing leadership and integrity to the program set forth by the Head Coach which includes, but is not limited to: creating, planning, organizing, motivating, communicating and controlling aspects relative to recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, volunteer coaches and related booster clubs. The Assistant Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Coach is expected to conduct themselves in a manner representative of the University, the Department and the sport both on and off the field of competition. The Assistant Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Coach is expected to be knowledgeable about and comply with NCAA regulatory policy governing their sport as well as NCAA and conference policies governing recruiting, eligibility, ethical standards, playing seasons, and extra benefits. Evidence of the Assistant Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Coach's knowledge of rules and policy will be in the Departmental expectation that the Assistant Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Coach successfully complete the annually administered NCAA Coaches Exam. The Assistant Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Coach performs other duties as assigned.
