SUMMARY STATEMENT:

This part time (28 hours per week) instructional position at the Roxbury Correctional Institution (RCI) is responsible for training incarcerated students in the Warehousing/Distribution/Logistics field.

The instructor will implement the training curriculum as well as prepare students to successfully certify as forklift operators and as HAZMAT handlers. This job provides incarcerated students with valuable training that will benefit them as they seek employment opportunities when they are released from incarceration.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Work with educational staff to recruit and screen eligible students.
  • Implement training curriculum and follow training and institutional procedures.
  • Ensure that students take proper care of materials and adhere to procedures.
  • Maintain student records and request certificates of completion from Labor Headquarters staff upon training completion.
  • Assist educational leadership in developing training competencies.
  • Monitor the progress of the training program.
  • Develop professional relationships with area business representatives/employers to stay abreast of employer needs in the field

    • Candidates must pass a state background check and meet Department of Corrections requirements.
