Job Summary: HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Web Design beginning in the fall semester of 2022. The successful candidate will serve a primary role in the Web Development and Design AAS degree program and may also teach in a new digital art and technology program currently in development. This is a fully remote (online) position.

This position will teach a variety of courses in interactive media, web design, and development, with a focus on HTML/CSS, design principles, CMS, UI/UX, and graphic/web editing. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, especially (in order of priority) Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, Animate, After Effects, and Dreamweaver is necessary. Some knowledge of JavaScript and web application development techniques is helpful.

Full-time faculty members teach 15 credit hours each fall and spring semester with small class sizes. There is potential to teach additional courses each semester and during the summer term for pay in addition to the base salary.

Full-time faculty are responsible for teaching, student academic advising, professional development, and service to the college and the department, which includes serving on committees, participating in assessment of curriculum, and supporting equity-minded student success initiatives. Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in a related field and three years of industry experience.
Willingness to teach day, evening, weekend, and on or off-campus classes.

• Participates in curriculum development and maintenance.
• Provides academic support and advising to students including establishing and maintaining a schedule of office hours.
• Participates in college governance by serving on joint, ad hoc, faculty, campus, division and discipline committees.

• Coordinate, plan, organize, and instruct academic courses according to approved course syllabus.

• Keep students informed about their progress through prompt grading of papers and other work.
• Maintain accurate and complete scholastic records, including attendance records.
• Maintain scheduled office hours.
• Ensure that assigned classes are held as scheduled.
• Organize and maintain class work and assignments.
• Strive for the qualities delineated in the criteria for faculty evaluation used by the college.
• Be thoroughly familiar and comply with all college policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
