Job Description
The Department of Theater and Dance is seeking to fill an Instructor position teaching all levels of dance in two or more genres of dance: Ballet (required) Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, etc. well as movement fundamentals for majors and non-majors. Area of expertise should be indicated in the application letter. Secondary expertise in teaching dance management, dance history, dance technology, video/screen dance, and/or dance studies/theory also desired. The Instructor will teach dance for majors as well as contribute to general education courses. A normal teaching load is three courses per academic semester with an additional assignment that will include one or more of the following: active role in the department's local, regional, national recruitment efforts, choreographing and /or directing of departmental concert and undergraduate mentoring. Additional summer opportunities in teaching and/or choreography may be available.

Minimum Qualifications
BA or BFA in Dance required. MFA in Dance preferred. Professional performing and/or choreographic experience and prior university teaching experience preferred.

Terms of Appointment
Full-time, non-tenure-track, 9-month renewable academic year appointment.
