ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

The Office of Admissions is responsible for recruitment, admission and enrollment of domestic and international undergraduate and graduate students at the University of South Florida. Approximately 79,000 admissions applications (31,000 freshman, 20,000 transfer, and 14,000 graduate) are processed and evaluated each year, augmented by academic credentials (e.g., high school and/or postsecondary transcripts, test scores, residency affidavits, conduct/disciplinary documentation. etc.) for each applicant.

DUTIES:

The In-State Admissions Recruiter/Advisor serves as one of the first points of contact for prospective students, parents, and high school or community college counselors. The position is responsible for communicating via email, telephone, in person, and travelling as needed to represent USF at onsite locations and present admissions information. Additionally, the Admissions Recruiter/Advisor compiles and analyzes recruitment data, and aids the department in reaching recruitment objectives to support the mission of the university.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages an in-state geo-market/recruitment territory by actively traveling to high schools and two-year colleges in key, primary markets to provide advising services and meet with counselors, parents, and prospective USF students. Provides admission counseling and information sessions with students and families through in-person individual and group settings, and via telephone, correspondence, and email. Acts as a primary point of contact for this population of students and their families, as well as guidance counselors from related high schools.

Conducts dynamic presentations and effectively answers questions about admission and application requirements and processes. This position will attend college fairs, and maintain regular contact with prospects, applicants and counselors from the assigned recruitment territory. Utilizes Travel Management and Enrollment Planning Service components in CRM. Adheres to office-wide travel policies and standard operating procedures.

Analyzes data to determine marketing effectiveness and impact on applicant and enrollment objectives for targeted populations. Develops and utilizes various reports. Compiles and analyzes statistical data for routine, periodic, and ad hoc reports. Prepares regular recruitment activity reports, statistical analyses, and enrollment projections.

Evaluates applications for admission and supporting academic credentials to determine admissibility and scholarship eligibility. Conducts decision-ready evaluations on a routine basis for timely admission decisions and in support of special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in relate field. Alternatively, in specialized academic areas, the position may require a degree in that field of study. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates who have at least one year of experience in undergraduate admissions, or student services in a higher education setting. Fluency in a language other than English -especially Spanish and/or Haitian Creole - is preferred.
