Six departments make up Facilities Management: Design and Construction, Emergency Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Operations, Planning, and Services. The Facilities Management Division is part of the Office of Administrative Services.
Maintenance and repair of USF utility infrastructure systems, machinery, and associated distribution systems. Including, electrical generators 5KW-100KW chilled water, hot water, potable water, and sewer water systems. Plant Maintenance Mechanics are essential personnel and during emergency situations, including those that dictate suspension of campus activities and services and/or closure of campus operations, employees deemed essential must remain at, or report to their campus, as soon as reasonably possible. This Position is part of a mandatory On-Call rotation.
Performs Preventive Maintenance of chilled, hot, potable, condenser, and sewer water infrastructure systems, their associated distribution loops, and plant facilities. Including, chillers, pumps, boilers, cooling towers and compressors.
Troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of primary machinery and ancillary components associated with chilled, hot, potable, condenser and sewer water infrastructure systems. Including, chillers, pumps, boilers, cooling towers, and compressors.
Chilled, hot, potable, and sewer water distribution system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs. Including, excavation, valve replacement, pipefitting, welding, and insulating.
Performs additional related duties as required.
This position requires completion of an approved apprenticeship program for one or more trades; or a high school diploma and four years of related experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. A valid Florida Driver's License may be required if motorized vehicles of any kind are operated.
