About this position

Florida Southern College is regularly accepting applications for adjunct faculty to teach courses for our distinguished programs. Experienced professionals with the appropriate educational background are occasionally needed to teach courses in mathematics and computer science.

Applicants who are interested in being considered for as-needed adjunct instructor positions should submit their resume with the completed employment application. Please include in your cover letter a list of courses you feel qualified to teach. To see a list of courses please review the online Course Catalog at www.flsouthern.edu/academics .

About our ideal candidate

The minimum academic qualification to teach at FSC is a Master’s degree that includes 18 graduate hours in the area the applicant desires to teach. Terminal degreed applicants are preferred. Three years of professional experience is preferred.

A copy of unofficial transcripts must be provided with employment application materials. Candidate official transcripts must be on file within 3 days of the start of a teaching assignment. Please request official transcripts from all colleges and university work (showing the highest degree earned) and have them sent to the attention of the Dr. Sara Fletcher Harding, Dean of Arts and Sciences, at 111 Lake Hollingsworth Dr., Lakeland, Fl 33801.

Applicants who receive their degrees outside the U.S. are required to have their transcript (s) evaluated by an approved educational evaluation service. This evaluation must be done at your own expense prior to being considered for employment by Florida Southern College.

Please Note: Adjunct faculty members are appointed to teach on a semester-by-semester and course-by-course basis in FSC’s regular undergraduate program, as well as in FSC’s evening and graduate programs. Due to the temporary nature of the positions, Adjunct Instructor job postings remain active and do not signify, unless otherwise stated in the posting, that there is an immediate opening.

About us

The College's health and wellness plans along with generous paid time-off benefits are in addition to rewarding employee benefits such as the tuition grant and 403(b) plan.

The employee tuition grant is a remarkable benefit that covers the cost of 100% of the College's tuition for dependent children of faculty and staff who have been employed with the college fulltime for one year. Employees can also take advantage of the benefit for themselves.

The Defined Contribution Retirement Plan is a 403(b) plan in which the college automatically contributes 7% of the eligible employee's earnings into a retirement fund whether the employee chooses to participate or not. The account has a comprehensive investment portfolio and allows the employee to control their investment choices. At 6 years of service, the employer contribution amount is elevated to 10%. Employees can choose to participate through pre-tax payroll deductions when ready!

Florida Southern College is committed to diversity and inclusion in hiring, campus life, and intellectual engagement and welcomes applications from all interested candidates. The college actively seeks a wide variety of candidates and enthusiastically looks to diversify our workforce.
