Job Summary:

Under direction of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Tutor/Facilitator will work regularly with cohort in either large group course-specific reviews or smaller group of 5-8 students through the CDM curriculum. The large group reviews will be presented typically before an exam. The smaller groups are a Tutoring intervention for students in academic difficulty or formal Academic Probation. The Tutor/Facilitator will supply effective facilitation in a manner that will improve students’ academic skills while developing mastery of subject material. Student independence rather than Tutor/Facilitator dependence will be the emphasis of Tutor/Facilitator. This position will also adhere University and CDM guidelines as well as follow University and CDM documentation policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
• Good verbal and written communication skills to be able to interact with faculty, staff, students, and any outside contacts.
• Excellent computer skills to use various related software e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Docs, and other software programs required by the position. Must have a good working knowledge of the Internet.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
• Experience: Some doctoral or professional experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree preferred
