The Associate Director is a strategic thinker and marketing, web, and digital communications expert who is as passionate about providing a seamless, optimized web experience as she/he/they are about producing insights-driven impactful and persuasive brand marketing products and content that propel positive brand perception and affinity, and aid with conversion. This role will manage and optimize the full and complex set of Berkeley Haas WordPress websites, while also designing category-leading web and marketing products for Haas prospective students and clients.

Responsibilities

Creates, develops, and implements comprehensive short and long-range strategic web, marketing, and electronic communications programs and projects.
  • Maintains currency with emerging and state-ofthe-art technical and other web- and marketingrelated technologies, requirements, and developments; and recommends or implements actions.
  • Creates, develops, implements and evaluates strategic high quality electronic marketing programs, projects, and campaigns.
  • Oversees the development of new technologies (for example, blogs, multimedia, et cetera) and effectively incorporates new technologies into strategic planning and, as appropriate, implements new technologies to enhance communications effectiveness.

Researches, develops, and produces web sites and marketing products, including content and design.
  • Researches, reports, and presents data insights on target audience needs, market and industry trends, and competitive websites and marketing products.
  • Maintains and develops complex web sites and other digital properties and marketing products with broad audiences and/or a high consequence of error.
  • Ensures promotion of "brand" identity and maintains and monitors "brand" communications to and marketing products for both campus and off-campus audiences.
  • Manages the ongoing content development and maintenance of digital properties.
  • Writes and configures complex material to utilize electronic communication resources to their full potential.
  • Develops and implements training and office hours as needed for web editors/owners.
  • Responds to sensitive public inquiries submitted via the web or e-mail, ensuring tact, diplomacy, and political acumen while maintaining institutional integrity.

Consults with management and other professionals to develop strategic marketing products and electronic communication plans, programs or projects, including new content, editorial practices and policies, innovations to ensure that electronic communication meets the campus needs and effectively delivers the desired message.
  • Processes the billing and payment of vendors, agencies, and other other providers of web, digital communications, and marketing products and services; tracks and reports estimates and costs.
  • Monitors, tracks, analyzes, evaluates, and reports on the progress and performance of web and marketing products and develops improvement recommendations.

Required Qualifications
  • Advanced skill in creating effective web sites.
  • Advanced understanding of marketing insights and implementation, and of the technical language and requirements of the assigned work.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital communication media, including content management systems and / or relevant web applications used for web site production, and organization-specific computer application programs.
  • Advanced technical skills in computer applications for web production, image handling, publishing and design, presentation preparation, web interaction, and / or other state-of-the-art web communication capabilities.
  • Advanced skill to monitor and assess processes or services and make necessary improvements.
  • Advanced project management skills to complete projects within budget and time constraints.
  • Advanced interpersonal communication skills, including political acumen and skill in trouble-shooting and applying proactive and positive solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a desire to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with colleagues, students and team members.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of the fundamentals of design and implementation.
  • Advanced understanding of organization's processes, procedures, and applicable rules and regulations for web communication.
  • Advanced knowledge of the organization, including its achievements, goals, objectives, vision and mission and how digital communication can effectively convey and advance the message to various audiences.
  • Technical skills in video production.
  • Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in digital communications, web management, and/or marketing
  • Masters degree in related area / field of study.

Salary & Benefits

This is an exempt, monthly paid position. Annual salary will be commensurate with experience up to $127,300.00
