DUTIES

The primary purpose of this position is for Student Health Services (SHS) Patient Services Office (PSO) Call Center, which includes monitoring and reviewing direct scheduling via the online patient portal and assisting staff with questions throughout the day. In general, Client Services Assistants in the PSO, which consists of Front Desk and Call Center, accurately capture confidential patient information into the medical operating system while adhering to HIPAA guidelines. They greet and assist callers, visitors, and patients, schedule clinical appointments, telemedicine appointments, check in/ out of all students/patients, post charges, collect payments, verify student eligibility to access SHS, scan insurance, and ID cards. Punctuality, reliability, attention to detail and a strong focus on customer service is pivotal to this role.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with two years of experience in an office or administrative support position. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Testing may be required to assess competency on word processing software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

General office or administrative support experience includes 2 years of experience in a clinical or Call Center setting. Familiarity with Student Health Services policies and procedures. Six months of experience working with Microsoft Outlook email and calendar.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO THE APPLICANTS

Responsible for patient registration, scheduling, check-in/out, and posting self-pay medical charges and payments while ensuring that confidential patient information (demographics and insurance data) is accurately entered or updated into PCIS (medical operating system) while adhering to HIPPA guidelines in either the Patients Services Team Call Center or at the Front Desk. Duties include processing phone, walk-in, and online appointments, Allscripts Tasking, and Instant Messaging; verify student eligibility to access SHS in OASIS and scanning insurance and ID cards using TW Scan software. Perform other clerical and administrative duties in support of the clinic and Patient Services Team operations at Student Health Services.
