Job Description As part of the College of Business Administration, this position coordinates the college’s internship program. Includes proactively working with faculty and administrators to facilitate a variety of employer related programs that supports the college’s mission and the internship program. Works in collaboration with the university’s centralized career services office to provide support to students and employers.

    Performs a variety of assignments and analyses that impact the Student Support functionUnderstands key business drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish/complete programs/projectsDevelops and implements programs/projects, providing guidance and oversight as necessarySolves problems in straightforward situationsAnalyzes potential solutions using technical experience, judgments and precedence, providing input and recommendationsImpacts the quality of own work and the work of others on the team, ensuring efficiency productivity, compliance, etc.Explains complex information to others in straightforward situationsRepresents the function to administrators, faculty, staff and other internal or external constituentsMeet with business students interested to explain the requirements/procedures for receiving academic credit and provide necessary guidance to ensure successful outcomes of students connecting with employers. Assists students in partnership with the student-facing coordinator in the centralized career services office. Solicit and contact employers as a result of various sources and networking to gauge their interest in hiring interns. Provide employers with information/website link that explains the benefits to UMSL College of Business Interns. Includes providing information and guidance to employers who are new to the academic/credit-bearing internship process.Work closely with the Centralized Career Services Office by promoting, to both students and employers, the use of Handshake (career management platform used at the UMSL). Successful collaborations are expected so that students and employers have clarity on their connection specifically for the College of Business Administration’s Internship Program.Attend various UMSL and off-campus activities to promote the Business Internship Program, including CoBA Alumni Association meetings, campus and targeted career fairs and networking programs (e.g., International Business Career Conference, Mentoring Programs).Track student enrollment into internship courses; track student completion; maintain relationships with site supervisors; assist students with applying for internships; coordinate with Department Chairs on requirements.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

    Prior coordination and/or management experience of an internship program preferred office.Computer and database literacy and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Ability to prioritize various tasks and assignments.Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.Experience working with multiple demands, schedules and work styles.Ability to work with a team of people, as well as work alone with confidence.Master’s degree in business, education, communications or related field strongly preferred.Knowledge of FERPA regulations and the ability to handle confidential information.Strong marketing and business development interestsAbility to host virtual meetings using MS Teams or Zoom
