Position Summary

Are you interested in sharing your knowledge, skills, experiences or expertise with fellow members of our community? If so, Coconino Community College is looking for non-credit course instructors to teach courses that can vary widely in topics, structure, and number of hours. Non-credit positions are temporary, non-benefits-eligible positions. Employment is determined on a course-to-course, semester-to-semester basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare course materials and content
  • Teach assigned courses, adhering to course outlines and objectives.
  • Collaborate and cooperate with the Community Education Coordinator and/or Workforce Training Coordinator to confirm dates and times, content, pricing, and planning for courses.
  • Follow all college policies and procedures including information on Non-Credit Instructor Terms & Conditions of Instructor Assignment (drafted for every non-credit course taught).
  • Respond to student outreach and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Notify the Coordinator in the event of an absence from class, and work to find a substitute or communicate with students to reschedule as necessary.
  • Follow the same accepted standards of conduct as CCC full-time faculty
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to teach assigned non-credit course effectively.
  • Knowledge of the subject area demonstrated through education and/or professional experience.
  • Ability to maintain professional ethics and confidentiality of students and staff.
  • Ability to promote the mission, values, purposes, and strategic plan of Coconino Community College.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse and team environment.
  • Ability to develop a course curriculum that is vibrant and engaging to all participants for the full class duration.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Proficiency in a subject area as demonstrated by any completed higher education program, certification, and/or equivalent professional or volunteer experience reflected in a professional resume. Bi-lingual a plus.
