Job Description
The School of Education, Health and Human Behavior is seeking to fill a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology. Preferred applicants will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate and online teaching in areas including statistics and research methods, cognitive and/or social psychology, and our undergraduate capstone seminar or developmentally-focused courses. Specifically, the department seeks a strong scholar who can contribute to our new online degree completion program, beginning in fall 2022 as well as add to the diversity of research interests among our faculty and contribute to our collegial and student-focused department. Responsibilities will also include conducting research in specific area(s) of expertise and serving on departmental committees.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold an earned doctorate in cognitive, social, or a developmentally-focused subfield of psychology. ABD candidates will be considered, but the doctorate is required by the contract start date of August, 2022. Evidence of, or potential for, successful undergraduate teaching, including in online modalities, high-quality research and service to the department.

Preferred Qualifications
-Ability to teach undergraduate Statistics and Research methods; and some combination of undergraduate Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Capstone in Psychology, and Child or Adolescent Psychology.
-Demonstrated interest in teaching and working with students from diverse backgrounds.
-Interest in engaging undergraduate students in research and experiential learning.
-Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship.
-Commitment to department collegiality through engagement in service activities.
-Ability to contribute through interest, research, teaching, and/or service to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Commensurate with education, training and demonstrated interest.

Terms of Appointment
Term-limited, visiting position for a period of three academic years. Beginning date of appointment is August 2022, concluding May 2025. Summer and/or winter-term teaching assignments may be available, depending upon enrollment and funding.
