The Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for managing the planning, production, and delivery of assigned marketing and communication projects and collateral for departments and offices across the university. The designer supports marketing projects for key functional areas in the office by developing creative content, from concept to production, for logotypes, promotional items, advertisements, flyers, posters, brochures, booklets, signage, and digital platforms including social media and web. The designer works in collaboration with all members of the Marketing and Communication team. Additionally, the designer supports select projects that directly support enrollment efforts and collaborates with partners and constituents across campus. In addition to serving as a marketing specialist, the designer accurately reflects the university’s mission and policies, academic offerings, student and alumni experience in all marketing collateral. The designer assists in the assessment and continual improvement of their area of responsibility in order to increase efficiency and produce the highest caliber of design. Bachelor’s degree and 2 years experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material required. A degree in graphic design, marketing, advertising, or journalism is preferred. Experience in and/or understanding of the challenges faced by modern universities is preferred. Previous marketing experience is highly desirable. Demonstrable experience with desktop publishing, editing, and design experience using a variety of platforms is essential. Photography skills are a plus.
