Job Summary

Coordinate activities and functions for the Scaling Apprenticeship Through Sector-Based Strategies (SATSBS) funded program, known as Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Model in Manufacturing (i-RAMM) at CAC, to ensure that its prescribed goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with the pertinent federal, state, and college requirements and regulations, time limitations, funding limitations, and other specifications. Position is dependent upon grant funding.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with CAC's marketing department to develop marketing and promotional literature for i-RAMM programs at CAC. Distribute promotional materials, letters, emails, mailing list data, brochures, and forms at various community events and locations, to provide outreach to SATSBS-eligible and other adult workers.
  • Recruit industry partners to provide apprenticeships and maintain effective communication with them.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and selection of students to participate in SATSBS programs at CAC and coordinate the delivery of supportive services and programs to these participants. Gather and maintain accurate student participant records and track students graduating or leaving the programs.
  • Ensure that the objectives for the CAC-specific programming are met in accordance with the pertinent federal, state, and college requirements and regulations, time limitations, funding limitations, and other specifications. Maintain awareness of SATSBS regulations.
  • Authorize expenditures for and monitor the budget for CAC-specific i-RAMM programming in accordance with SATSBS program guidelines, Federal Cost Principles, and U.S. Department of Labor and Employment Training Administration requirements.
  • Maintain all required budget records and prepared required financial reports for CAC-specific i-RAMM activities. Prepare all SATSBS performance reports required of CAC. Maintain documents for audit purposes. Procure supplies for i-RAMM-funded programs at CAC, in consultation with the appropriate faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • In consultation with the project director and external evaluator, create and administer surveys and other instruments to assess the outcomes and progress of CAC-specific i-RAMM programs. Maintain various database and spreadsheets. Analyze collected quantitative and qualitative data to identify factors that affect the recruitment, retention and employment placement of project participants at CAC. Recommend and implement programming changes based on accurate data. Use Plan Do Study Act to provide continuous improvement of processes and programs.
  • Perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.
Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of applicable experience

SPECIAL POSITION CONDITIONS: Travel using own vehicle throughout the District is required. Some night and weekend work may be required

DESIRABLES: Apprenticeship experience, familiarity with ADOT, DES, AZBOE, and Union apprenticeship regulations and restrictions, NCCER Certification, completion of a registered apprenticeship program.

Copies of transcripts should reflect completed course work and conferred degrees. All academic course work and degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university or be certified by an acceptable agency that the institution is recognized by the appropriate governmental agency in its home country (this is generally stated in the degree evaluation).

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by an acceptable translator. Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited course work by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

  • Ability to coordinate and oversee federal grants and coordinate with professional level staff.
    Knowledge of workforce development concepts and practices at various postsecondary institutions.
  • Knowledge of program development, implementation and evaluation, preferably in an institution of higher education environment.
  • Ability to market programs that provide outreach to target populations.
  • Ability to work with adults from the target population.
  • Knowledge of concepts, principals, and practices of management, particularly as they apply in the higher educational institution. Experience in Plan Do Study Act and or ability to learning and implement this method.
  • Knowledge and skill in managing project budgets. Ability to estimate materials, equipment, and labor costs, and develop and maintain budgets.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, and regulations regarding area of practice.
    Skill in gathering, compiling, and presenting information in oral and/or written form.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with staff, community leaders, faculty, students, and the public. Skill working in a diverse multi-ethnic, multi-cultural population.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of highly confidential information, records, and sensitive situations in an effective manner.
  • Ability to analyze situations, develop solutions, and make independent decisions based on established guidelines.
  • Knowledge of and ability in using quantitative and quantitative research methods to evaluate project and to use evaluation reports to guide program improvements.
  • Ability to develop and conduct workshops, group presentations, classes and training sessions, including determining content and developing materials.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, and a variety of software applications used in student presentations and workshops.
