Job Description Summary:

The search will remain open until the position has been filled. First consideration will be given to applications received by February 16, 2022. Second consideration may be given to applications received by (March 9, 2022. Applications received subsequent to second consideration date (March 9, 2022) may not be given full consideration.


Install, maintain, and provide IT desktop technical support for Division staff as assigned by the Director. Working closely under the supervision of the Director, assist in electronic grants administration tasks as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist and perform computer software installations and upgrades, instruct, and assist office staff in the use of new computer hardware, operating systems and application programs. Maintain hardware and software inventories. Provide end user support for the research administrative systems as assigned by the Director. In coordination with the Director, generate and maintain standard grants data reports and assist in in response to data requests. Assist in maintaining and ensuring data integrity of the grants management system and reconcile data discrepancies by working in collaboration with various offices.
Aid in coordination of data collection efforts and business process mapping in projects as assigned.
Assist in creation of training material and maintaining/updating documentation of system-based business process as assigned. Assist in training of end users on navigating various aspects of research administrative systems and their usage. Document and create trouble tickets in vendor systems as assigned and track them to ensure issue resolution. Perform grants database management tasks as assigned.

Remain competent and current with campus wide IT software rollouts and attend trainings or meetings as needed. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other duties as assigned. LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Personal computers (Windows and Mac), printers, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Database management and spreadsheet software, Snagit, Knowmia, Panopto, Oracle/PeopleSoft, InfoEd Global, InfoReady, IRBNet. Other software as necessary.

Required Qualifications:


1. Bachelor’s Degree.

2. Minimum of two years of experience in an Information Technology position.

3. Demonstrated knowledge in installation and maintenance of computer systems.

4. Demonstrated knowledge of computer hardware and software troubleshooting.

5. Demonstrated experience in end-user IT training.

6. Demonstrated experience in documentation for large user groups.

7. Demonstrated familiarity with cloud-based software systems and database management software.

8. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

9. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

10. Demonstrated attention to detail.

11. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

12. Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:


1. Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field.

2. Demonstrated prior experience in providing information technology support for Research Administration in a higher education environment.

3. Demonstrated experience with business intelligence and other reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).

4. Demonstrated familiarity with grants management systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, InfoEd Global, IRBNet, InfoReady, etc.)

5. Demonstrated familiarity with database management software.

6. Demonstrated understanding of aspects of Sponsored Project Administration.
