Masters in biochemical engineering, biochemistry, microbiology or equivalent

Due to the varied nature of projects at BFF, the Research Professional II will operate in a variety of disciplines to execute protein purification process development on FPLC and HPLC systems. In addition, the candidate should have an understanding of cell culture principles including expression of proteins in Chinese Hamster Ovary and Human cell lines. The candidate will be responsible for developing new procedures that could eventually be services offered in the facility. This will involve critically reading and adapting procedures from the scientific literature, as well communicate with clients and accurately implement requested services. In addition, the facility is developing quality system guidelines that the applicant should be familiar with and follow.

Knowledge of protein purification theory and practice including operation of FPLC and HPLC equipment.
