Responsibilities

Develops effective diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and standards for MBA program admissions. Prepares strategy and plans for recruitment programs. Evaluate the effectiveness of admissions and/or recruitment programs and make recommendations for recruitment strategy to enhance yield.
  • Develop a strategy and execution plan that includes outreach, recruiting, and yielding applicants from diverse backgrounds that include underrepresented in business education, LGBTQ, women, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.
  • Collaborate and partner with admissions staff diversity leads (URM, LGBTQ, women, individuals with disabilities, and veterans) to coordinate activities in relation to the DEI strategic plan.
  • Partner with the various admissions units and the Marketing and Communications team to identify topics, events, and features for the monthly newsletter on diversity at Berkeley Haas.
  • Identify community, corporate, regional, and national events and opportunities to increase the application pipeline of diverse applicants to Haas's 6 graduate programs
  • Facilitate the planning and execution of largescale events including but not limited to the annual Haas Diversity Symposium, partner seminars and programs, and focused outreach events.
  • Work closely and in partnership with the Chief Diversity Officer and Director of Inclusion & Diversity to ensure alignment with the Berkeley Haas Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategic plan focused on admissions.
  • Develop strong partnerships with student leaders (VP of Admissions, VP of Diversity, CGSM Student Liaisons, Race Inclusion Initiative (RII) and Gender Equity Initiative (GEI) admissions pillar leads, Haas Student Ambassadors, etc.).
  • Own strategic partnerships with key diversity pipeline organizations across Haas' six-degree programs. Collaborate with admissions offices in properly staffing, resourcing, and investing in partnerships to achieve admissions goals.
  • Identify strategic investments to improve diversity admissions outreach, recruitment, and yield. Measure outcomes of various initiatives to ensure the most effective use of funding.
  • Participate in signature admissions events including FTMBA interview weekends and admitted student weekends.

Using professional diversity, equity, and inclusion/accessibility concepts, monitor, analyze, and formulate recommendations on efforts to support and advance the School's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. Assist admissions management in the design and implementation of admissions programs focused on underrepresented communities and broader approaches to communicating DEI in all admissions outreach.
  • In partnership with the FT MBA program, support URM applicants through the admissions process.
  • Develop a student engagement strategy that leverages student time appropriately, facilitates feedback, and communicates regularly with student groups. Develop working partnerships with admissions/outreach-focused student leaders across degree programs, as needed
  • Travel and attend recruitment and admitted student events related to diversity admissions, in coordination with admissions committees
  • Oversees the integration of DEI in the design, planning, and implementation of the admissions application review and selection process.

Compiles, reviews, and submits required diversity, equity and inclusion statistical reports for FT MBA Admissions. Analyzes admissions funnels and data to identify pain points and opportunities to invest (e.g. general college admissions/enrollment goals, financial aid/scholarships, number of applicants, acceptance rate, and yield rate). Works with admissions leadership to develop tools and strategies to address strategic obstacles.
  • Serve as a co-leader alongside ED for FT MBA Admissions for the FTMBA Diversity Admissions Council (DAC), other key student councils on diversity admissions, and relevant staff subcommittees. Work closely with committee leads on developing meeting agendas and priorities, and attend meetings regularly.
  • Support development and alignment with additional diversity admissions councils in other degree programs
  • In collaboration with admissions teams compiles and develops actionable reporting on diversity data across all programs.
  • Analyzes scholarship and financial aid models in collaboration with the Financial Aid office to identify trends and impact of funding on admissions outcomes.

Works in a collaborative manner with others across the organization to address and resolve a wide range of complex diversity, equity, and inclusion-related issues. Represents college/school/department or campus as it relates to specialist's specific area of expertise and provides guidance to other specialists in that area of expertise, such as diversity admissions or articulation agreements.
  • Identify and foster strategic opportunities to advance diversity admissions efforts across all Haas programs, especially between MBA programs.
  • Partner with UC Berkeley colleagues in outreach and community-building opportunities for new students.

  • Engages in ongoing education to promote diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging by completing University sponsored certifications & training sessions (Ie: MEP Workshop, Implicit Bias Certification, LinkedIn Learning workshops, and other workshops & seminars offered by the University or Haas, as they are made available) or by engaging in external seminars & resources related to DEIB.

Required Qualifications
  • Has thorough knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion and accesibility programs and can apply more advanced subject matter knowledge in the completion of diversity, equity and inclusion assignments.
  • Possesses in-depth skills to gather, organize and perform analyses on diversity, equity and inclusion and accesibility programs and initiatives as well as presenting findings and making recommendations clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Possesses excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management including program design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population, specifically underrepresented and historically marginalized populations including but not limited to racial and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ+, individuals with disabilities, religious minorites, DREAMers, and veterans.
  • Knowledge and understanding of higher education policies and procedures, and experience with interpretation and application of policies and procedures in the student admissions process.
  • Advanced knowledge of academic programs, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs at colleges/universities.
  • Knowledge of admissions requirements for campus/schools/college, including mitigating circumstances for exceptions and diversity, inclusion, and equity frameworks and theories.
  • Expertise with developing and/or implementing strategic recruitment plans, designing outreach and recruitment programs and materials to attract candidates, including students from underrepresented groups.
  • Advanced skills in developing trust, addressing conflict, and building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with colleagues and various stakeholders including but not limited to students, alumni, administrators, and external partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a desire to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with colleagues, students and team members.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related area.

Salary & Benefits

This is an exempt, monthly paid position. Annual salary will be commensurate with experience within the range of $85,350.00 - $101,500.00.
