The Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at Coastal Carolina University, located in Conway, South Carolina, invites applications for the Lecturer of Music, emphasis in Percussion Performance and Assistant Marching Band Director/Percussion.
The successful candidate will assist in teaching courses and ensembles in the Percussion Performance curriculum, which will include: percussion methods (music education), serve as assistant marching band director, teach and apply techniques within the modern marching percussion ensemble, and applied instruction on a variety of percussion instruments. Applicants are also required to successfully arrange music for the marching band percussion section (battery and front ensemble).
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have completed a master’s degree in a related field (percussion performance, music education, music composition, etc.). Doctorate is preferred. Candidates should also have a history of excellence as a performer and educator in the field of music. This includes a minimum of two years of teaching in higher education.
