The Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University is seeking an experienced medical education leader to serve as the Director of Medical Foundations, this faculty position will fulfill a critical need within the Department of Medical Education. As Director of the Foundations portions of the undergraduate medical curriculum, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and teaching curricular content to undergraduate medical students across the fully integrated first two years of the medical curriculum. Additionally, the incumbent will be charged with the effective contextualizing visceral organ systems pathophysiology in a clinical setting.
Required Qualification
PhD, DO, MD or equivalent degree in the biomedical sciences. Strong record of and significant experience with clinical medical education. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Assistant Professor level candidates must meet all requirements above.
- Associate Professor level candidates must meet all requirements above, plus have at least five years’ experience as an Assistant Professor with an exemplary scholarly portfolio and supervisory experience and meet all Associate Professor Promotion requirements.
- Full Professor candidates must fulfill all the requirements of Associate Professor along with at least five years’ experience as the Associate Professor along with an exemplary scholarly portfolio and leadership experience and meet all Professor Promotion requirements.

Preferred
Experience teaching undergraduate medical students. Experience with engaged/active learning modalities (e.g., Team-Based Learning, Peer Instruction, problem-based learning).
