About the Position
The Programmer/Analyst is responsible for systems analysis and application support for users of the College's Banner ERP information systems. In addition, this position participates in, or leads other application/development projects; consults with functional users to gather information about program needs, objectives and functionality; analyzes defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, and interfaces with other systems; provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from other college personnel. This position also edits and writes reports querying the College Oracle database.

Position Duties

  • Analyze and design complex online business computer applications from conception and design to implementation. This includes conferring with users to identify changing needs or problems, and insuring a smooth interface with concurrent applications.
  • Code and test new applications and troubleshoot existing applications by developing/maintaining a series of test programs and databases that can be used to test programs.
  • Provide end-user functional support to analyze and correct issues with their respective ERP modules. This includes interfacing with software vendors as needed to troubleshoot issues.
  • Train College personnel in the use of newly developed or modified computer applications.
  • Maintain system, program, and user documentation.
  • Provide the various departments of the college with the necessary electronic data for outside reporting to be in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Obtain new skills and knowledge to keep abreast with ever changing technology.
Education, Experience and Licensure/Certification Requirements

Associate's degree in Computer Science/Programming required.

Minimum of three years relevant work experience as described below:

  • Minimum 3 years of systems design, analysis, programming experience, preferably in a higher education or similar environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using SQL in a relational database environment, preferably Oracle SQL*Plus and PL/SQL.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

Experience with SQL, Oracle SQL*Plus and/or PL/SQL programming.
Demonstrated working knowledge of relational database concepts, terms, and practices.
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed analysis; strong troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve increasingly complex problems.
Ability to work effectively with all types of people at all levels and departments of the college.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
