Job Details
The Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology (NBMG) at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) seeks applications for a Business and Grants Manager position. NBMG is a research, public service, and educational unit housed on the UNR campus. NBMG serves as the state geological survey and provides analysis, information, and data dissemination for Nevada’s geology, natural resources, and geologic hazards.
The Business and Grants Manager is responsible for administering the complex financial, administrative and human resources operations of the Bureau in collaboration with and on behalf of the Director with significant discretion, independence, and authority on how to administer the operation efficiently and effectively. The position allocates human capital and other resources accordingly to enhance the services provided by the Bureau and to ensure grant deliverables are met in a strategic and comprehensive fashion.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years OR Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience. Related Experience: budgeting, accounting, and human resources experience; experience managing high-level business operations; supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Budgeting and accounting experience in a government or higher education setting. Degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
