It is an institution with strong community and legislative support.

The University seeks an energetic, entrepreneurial leader who will fully embrace the urban-serving mission of UW Tacoma and guide strategic efforts to develop further the academic identity of the University in support of this mission.  The EVCAA should have a strong track record enhancing academic excellence, ensuring a diverse university, building an inclusive and safe environment, and effectively representing an institution to an engaged external constituency.  They will have superb management skills and business acumen, combined with highly developed communication skills.  As someone responsible for reviewing all tenure and promotion cases, it is equally important that the next EVCAA is an accomplished scholar.
