Position Summary

The Executive MBA Student Engagement Manager reports to the Executive MBA Program Director. The Student Engagement Manager and the Program Director are the points of contact for all students in the program, and provide continuity throughout the prospect, student and alumni experience. Extensive student and faculty interface is required.

This position is responsible for providing an outstanding prospect/student/alumni experience as well as class operations and student support. This role has responsibility for the integration of all MBA student experiences, where possible. The outcome of this position should ultimately be a high sense of an engaged MBA student/alumni community.

Essential Functions

Class Operations and Student Support: Schedule and manage all catering for class day. Keep the kitchen and student areas clean and tidy, leaving both areas in better condition than they were found. Keep food and coffee/other drinks full on class days. Be the key student and faculty resource on class day. Assist with prospective student visitors as needed. Coordinate with student workers on class day to provide outstanding class day operations and student support. Works or provides student worker for duration of each class.

Prospect, Student and Alumni Engagement: Provide support to the Office of Admissions by scheduling and providing logistical support for MBA prospect interviews. Assist prospects in meeting other current students, arriving at the correct classroom on time for class visits. Ensure that all students are enrolled in respective LinkedIn group (Daniels at DU), upon new-student orientation. Work with Graduate Student services to support orientation/launch experience for EMBA students. Manages and sends the weekly student newsletter. Interface with Cohort Leaders to monitor the cohort experience, manage Cohort Leader meetings, disseminating information and surveys both to and from ambassadors/leaders to Program Director and Faculty Director. Understand DU support services such as Health and Counseling, Pioneers Cares, Advocacy Services (CAPE) and Title IX, and appropriately utilizes these resources. Regularly post known job opportunities, events and articles of interest, encouraging students to do the same. Develops, distributes and maintains EMBA mentor lists for students in support of MBA student career development goals and encourages students to participate in the Daniels Mentorship Program. In collaboration with the MBA team, plan and execute professional development opportunities for current students and alumni i.e. panel discussions, case competitions, Ideations, career services, leadership and professional development and other Daniels and DU events of interest to MBA students. This is partly accomplished by making sure students are aware of the wide range of activities/events available to them at Daniels/DU. Make alumni connections across programs for MBA students, for example with coffee connections, mentor opportunities, informational interviews with alumni, etc. In collaboration with MBA team and Daniels events team plan and execute commencement/graduation experience for MBA students every quarter. In partnership with Daniels Careers, actively contribute to the development of MBA career services strategy and execution. Provide office support to current students and other duties as assigned by the program lead. Track MBA referrals and assists with annual outreach to alumni via appropriate technology. Keep alumni rosters up-to-date, sharing results with DU and Daniels alumni relations.

Class Management: Manage Canvas for each class as appropriate, working with class instructors to make sure that full use is made of LMS, filing copy of each syllabus on the R drive and sending to Daniels administration. Add self as TA to classes to assist faculty as needed. Proofread class/professor schedule, cross-referencing with schedule archives, managing changes with Daniels scheduler. Manage book orders/purchases and library reserve system for all classes. Register students for classes. Assure students are registered for graduation when appropriate.

Team Collaboration: Assist Assistant Director for Data by providing any data needed for current projects. Assist Office Manager as needed to complete projects related to program.

  • Proficient in MS Office/systems (MS Word, Excel, Power Point; Visio and Project are a plus), Slate, Banner, Salesforce, Zoom, Office 365, Teams, Google Drive (used by 2U) and various learning management systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business or related field.
  • 2-4 years of customer service/event planning experience.
  • Ability to travel out of state 2-4 times per year.
  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years work experience in higher education.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00am -4:30pm. Class days are typically Fridays & Saturdays 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., some evenings and weekends as required. Ability to travel out of state 2-4 times per year.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 8.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $57,000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
