SALARY AND BENEFITS: The posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU's compensation plan. RVU's full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials. Responsibilities
Administrative:
- Provide oversight in the development and implementation of the basic science curriculum
Direct research-related components of the PA program, including oversight of student research projects and leadership/guidance of faculty and program scholarly activities
Contribute to the implementation of the program's ongoing evaluation and accreditation processes, to ensure program and course-level quality measures are employed
Collaborate with the PA faculty to ensure integration of basic and clinical sciences, including teaching and assessment strategies
Provide oversight of program data collection and analysis strategies to ensure valid and reliable program and course-level assessments
Serve as curricular liaison between the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) departments of Biomedical Sciences, and Structural Medicine (Anatomy) to ensure basic science faculty members are appropriately oriented to specific teaching responsibilities, program instructional resources, and the learning objectives and assessments for which they are responsible
- Serve as course director of the PA Program's Basic Science and Research courses, to include:
- developing curricular content within a competency-based medical model,
- developing, implementing and scoring competency-based assessments,
- adhering to accreditation standards (ARC-PA), and
- ensuring alignment with program mission and goals
- Develop and deliver lectures and small group interactive sessions through varied delivery methods for courses in which research and critical thinking methods are a component
- Serve as faculty advisor to PA students
- Serve on PA program and University committees according to professional interest and assigned duties
Attend PA Program faculty meetings, retreats, and accreditation-related events
Participate in the PA Program's admissions process
Participate in activities of state, regional, and national organizations as a representative of the RVU PA program
- Engage in scholarship and faculty development including original research, publications, presentations, and workshop participation
Promote, collaborate, and lead the program in dissemination of scholarly work
Perform other duties as assigned, supporting the mission of the program and the university
