Job SummaryThe College of Education at Georgia Southwestern State University is seeking candidates for a position as a Lecturer or tenure track Assistant Professor. Responsibilities of this position include: teaching BSED, M.ED, and Ed.S. social studies PK-12 education courses on the GSW campus and at off-campus sites; academic advising; supervision of student teachers; engaging in professional development activities; service contributions to the College of Education and University. The applicant may also teach other classes, as assigned, consistent with the candidate’s expertise and qualifications.
Required Qualifications- For Lecturers: Master’s degree in Social Studies Education or related field is required.
- For Assistant Professors: Earned Doctorate or ABD in Social Studies Teacher Education or related field is required.
At least three years of public school teaching experience preferred, demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment, and demonstrated ability to teach using technology in the classroom and/or online course delivery.
