Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategically plans, develops curriculum, and delivers leadership training (course curriculum, trainings, Lead Like the Savior, Canvas, etc.)
  • Participates in council to review, set and maintain area policies/procedures and direction.
  • Coordinates and works well with full time/student/missionary SLS Employees on a daily basis of all levels of events/programming within a proscribed budget and policies/ procedures (including, but not limited to: proposals, goals and expenses, training plans, etc)
  • Files and maintains all progressive paper work for a project from inception to completion.
  • Prepares and distributes assessments to measure overall programming effectiveness.
  • Attends 1-1 weekly stewardship meetings with team.
  • Meets with constituents across campus and external to the campus in the community.
  • High level of organizational and communication ability and experience in order to deliver the co-curricular leadership programming
  • Establishes and maintains relationships of trust with campus community.
  • Mentor individual students and groups and promote student development and personal potential.
  • Supports supervisor in his/her duties and completes delegated tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • 3.0 GPA.
  • Enrolled in 14+ credits per semester. (consideration may be given for those on qualified leave of absence or reduced course load)
  • 2 Consecutive semesters on campus.
  • Experience in an office setting with a high level of organizational ability.
  • Able to work 19 hours/week with some nights and weekends required.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office specifically Word (or other word processing software); especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in customer service skills.
  • Leadership experience, specifically in directing the work of others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively on a team.
  • Experience multi-tasking and time management.
  • Experience in project management, proposals, data assessments, and evaluations.
  • Team player and highly collaborative.
  • Public speaking and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to think strategically, with vision, and see/communicate the "big picture."
  • Lives and is exemplary in upholding the Honor Code, mission, and vision of BYU-Hawaii Campus and SLS Department.
  • Preference for candidates who can give a 1-year commitment.

Desired:

  • Good understanding of Campus Administration.
  • Experience working with a budget.
  • Previous experience with public speaking or presentation skills.
  • Previous experience with mediation or conflict resolution.
