The position is a full-time, nine-month, renewable, non-tenure-accruing appointment at the rank of Lecturer, with an opportunity for advancement in UF’s Lecturer track. This position carries a 2-2 teaching assignment in addition to the duties associated with the position of GA Coordinator/Trainer. The successful candidate for this position should be able to teach our online, asynchronous core courses (i.e. Intro to Public Speaking; Intro to Interpersonal Communication), as well as coordinate all graduate assistants and graders for those courses and our other online courses requiring TAs. The candidate will also teach the COM4930: Communication Practicum for TAs working in the Public Speaking Lab. They will further coordinate and manage the schedule for the Public Speaking lab and will work with the Director of Public Speaking and the Director of the Dial Center on workshops and programming development for the lab. Additionally, the candidate will work with the Director of Public Speaking on the hiring of new graduate assistants and will take lead on training new TAs for our courses and the Dial Center’s annual Public Speaking Forum. The candidate would report directly to the Director of Public Speaking, who then reports to the Director of the Dial Center. Because of the increased duties in program coordination and TA training, there will be a reduction in the amount of service expected per semester.
