About the Department:

The purpose of the Department of Registration and Records is to provide academic services to current and former students, faculty, staff and the public while maintaining the security and integrity of the university’s academic data. The department serves as the data steward for all academic data and is therefore responsible for developing efficient and effective systems for collection, storage, update and distribution of data affecting all of the University’s academic functions.

Essential Job Duties:

Primary duties of the Student Services Specialist include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Providing student support services with a focus on student data updates through the Student Information System including: the processing of academic record updates, student registration, and other areas connected to the student academic record.
  • Responding to phone and email inquiries to the Office of Registration and Records on student records and the broad business operations of office.
  • Having a clear understanding of the Student Information System and student record related laws, policies, guidelines and business process and be able to communicate information on these areas to students, faculty, and other campus constituents.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with campus partners.

Other Responsibilities:

Assist in additional duties and events as assigned.

Minimum Experience/Education:

Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to problem-solve and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to learn and utilize various software programs and systems in the management of student records. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
