The University of Colorado’s Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine, located at the Anschutz Medical Campus, is an internationally renowned program that provides comprehensive resources for the diagnosis and therapy of diseases of the digestive tract, pancreas and liver. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology has faculty and staff making contributions to research, clinical trials, and nationally recognized patient care. Gastroenterology & GI Surgery is one of the top ranked in the United States and our clinical partner, the University of Colorado Hospital, and is in the top hospitals nationwide as ranked by U.S. News and World Report. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is rapidly growing, with clinical practices throughout the state of Colorado and over 80 researchers, physicians and staff, all working toward its vision to prevent and treat disease while being a global model for patient care delivery, interdisciplinary research, and training. The Division of GI and Hepatology plays an integral role in the multidisciplinary care provided to patients with pancreatic disorders. This collaborative team is looking to expand the clinical services and research endeavors in the management of patients with pancreatic disorders (e.g., acute and chronic pancreatitis, genetic disorders, islet cell transplantation). As an important member of the clinical team, the Medical/Interventional Pancreatologist will have outpatient clinical responsibilities, including clinic consultations and endoscopic procedures, inpatient attending, and teaching duties. This individual will work closely with a multidisciplinary team that will include GI, surgery, endocrinology, nutrition, and genetic counsellors.This position communicates appropriately and effectively with study subjects, investigators, and other team members and has outstanding customer service skills and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Individuals with a strong research interest in pancreatic disorders are encouraged to apply.Examples of Work Performed
- Evaluation and treatment of patients with pancreatic diseases (e.g., acute and chronic pancreatitis and associated complications, genetic disorders, pancreatic cysts). Ability to perform interventional endoscopy procedures is optionalCollaborate with our surgical colleagues in the development of a total pancreatectomy and auto islet transplantation program (TPAIT).

- A medical degree from an accredited institution.Board certification in Internal MedicineBoard certified in Gastroenterology1 year of interventional endoscopy fellowship or advanced training in pancreatologyMust have, or be eligible to obtain, an active State of Colorado medical licenseMust have an active DEA license on or before hire dateMust have a record of scholarship, teaching, and service sufficient to be appointed as an assistant professor or higher at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus
