JOB SUMMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track, process and integrate incoming transcripts for transfer students.

  • Perform data entry of evaluated transfer course work for all traditional and non-traditional academic programs.

  • Assist with updates for established transfer agreements with regional institutions and other Nazarene and mission-fit institutions for traditional and non-traditional academic programs.

  • Assist with Advanced Placement (AP), CLEP and other college level testing updates and data entry of credit application onto student transcripts.

  • Aid in creation and updates of student transfer guides for all programs.

  • Assist the Articulation Coordinator with course articulation into College Source programs.

  • Coordinate pre-transfer evaluations with the Office of Admissions and potential transfer students for traditional and non-traditional academic programs.

  • Facilitate web links between Admissions and Records in the transfer area to disperse more pertinent information for these students prior to arriving on campus.

  • Provide resources and attend transfer events in conjunction with the Articulation Coordinator.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Prior clerical experience in an academic environment

  • Demonstrated ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute.

  • Strong word processing and computer skills in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, including accurate data entry

  • Understanding of computerized database and reporting systems.

  • Knowledge of or aptitude to grasp quickly, PLNU's academic policies and procedures.

  • Understanding of and commitment to the spiritual mission of Point Loma Nazarene University.

  • Ability to professionally handle contact with customers in a positive, caring and friendly manner in all situations.

  • Able to exercise adaptability, integrity and patience in all situations.

  • Ability to be a self-starter, work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.

  • Strong time management, organizational skills and the capacity to use independent judgment in prioritizing tasks while experiencing frequent interruptions.

  • Punctuality and great work ethic.

  • Positive, friendly attitude and ability to exercise important interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining constructive, effective working relations with faculty and staff.

  • Strong aptitude to take direction and work effectively as a supportive, positive and cooperative team member.

  • Impeccable attention to detail.

  • Capability to exercise/maintain strict confidentiality in all matters.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to employ creative problem solving skills to complex situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Ability to read documents, email and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone. Ability to stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs throughout the day.
