Salary Information:

HIRING RANGE: $20.00-$21.40 per hour based on experience.
Pay Grade: 08

Job Summary:

Provide support to the student population through the transition into college in the areas of enrollment, financial aid, and student account processes. This support may be done in one-on-one and/or group settings. Serve as secondary front desk person assisting students on campus through all areas of student services.

Essential Functions:

Process admissions and course registrations. Provide individualized information and support on entrance requirements for programs and courses and assist students in completing the necessary steps to be admitted and/or register for classes. Collect necessary support documentation the student needs to provide and enter those documents in the College’s student records system.Provide financial aid information and services to students. Assist students in establishing payment plans, receive and process student tuition payments and miscellaneous fees, and reconcile daily receipts. Support the completion of financial assistance applications (FAFSA, scholarships, supplemental materials, etc.) and necessary supporting documents. Place students in work study positions and support textbook services.Provide support for the annual enrollment management strategies and plan, including visit days, family nights, campus tours, college fairs, and community outreach programming. This includes scheduling events and classes on campus including the DMACC Newton Conference Center, community events and building partners.Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Associates degree (high school diploma and two years of related experience may substitute for associate’s degree.)
One year of general office experience which includes computer experience and substantial public contact.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize and manage time.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of current software applications.

Desired Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree.
Experience in an educational institution preferably in student services.
Experience assisting students with financial aid, admissions/registration or student accounts.
Experience in a community college either as an employee or student.
Knowledge of educational databases (Banner, PeopleSoft, WorkDay, Datatel, etc.)
Comfortable learning and working with technology.
Experience providing high levels of customer service.
Business office experience including handling cash, accounts receivable/payable.
Ability to speak and understand a language in addition to English.
