This Research Professional position is for coordinating, managing, and overseeing single-cell research projects in the Schmitz lab. The Research Professional will be delegated high-level responsibilities by the PI and is expected to work independently with technicians to collect, analyze, and interpret data, and to communicate the results with the PI.

A Ph.D. in molecular biology, plant biology, or computational biology. Have experience in general molecular biology and scripting languages for data analysis, such as R or Python and advanced knowledge of statistics.

1. Coordinate and supervise single-cell research projects including data collection, analysis and overall project management, word processing and data management as related to preparation of manuscripts, protocols, and presentations.

2. Supervision of students and post docs, and maintenance of accurate records with every aspect of research projects.

3. Develop and apply laboratory assays to address assigned scientific questions. Assays may include sequencing library preparation, DNA/RNA isolation, microfluidics based single-cell isolation, and molecular biology techniques.

4. The individual will also be responsible for analyzing sequencing data using scripting languages such as R or python.

5. The individual will be expected to train students and post docs on the related experimental and computational techniques.
