We especially encourage women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, veterans and people with disabilities to apply.Description:Student Health Services is seeking an Operations Manager who will provide administrative and operational support for the clinical unit as well as COVID related surveillance testing and similar projects. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Student Health Services (SHS), the candidate will work closely with the clinical team on projects that promote the health and wellness of the students of Hofstra University.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

•Works with Student Health Services (SHS) team to define, capture and report on all relevant data points and metrics, including COVID related testing.
•Prepares and reports required metrics related to COVID polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Point of Care (POC) testing performed for students both on campus and off, including number of tests performed and number of positive cases, to Hofstra University leadership.
•Ensures compliance of students’ health and vaccination records in MEDICAT.
•Develops and implements reporting process for COVID Point of Care (POC) testing, ensuring that all key data elements as defined by NYS are captured for each patient test, and reported within the prescribed timeframe.
•Compiles daily cumulative report of all positive COVID cases among students, including pertinent contact information and contact tracing information to be reporting to the local Department of Health.
•Ensures SHS team and related offices on campus are apprised of all positive COVID results in a timely manner and that these results are communicated to the Department of Health and other regulatory agencies
•Interfaces with other Hofstra University departments and vendors as needed to ensure continuity of services is provided.
•Serves as a resource for MEDICAT EHR system and works with the IT department to troubleshoot any issues with the system.
•Works with SHS team to improve workflows and processes
•Schedules personnel using group scheduling software, taking staff preferences into account while also balancing staffing needs of the office.
•Ensures projects are on track for completion in pre-defined time frame and works with team members to ensure assigned project related tasks are completed.
•Makes technical and administrative arrangements for meetings, including scheduling and coordinating activities of all relevant team members, to ensure no interruption in patient care.
•Participates in completing preparations for accreditation surveys and related activities, including revision of policies and procedures.
•Provides continued technical support in development and analysis of planning-related data.
•Collaborates with staff and Administration regarding planning and program development information.
•Configure, run, and assist with analysis of data imports, extracts, and reports through various IT systems including MEDICAT.
•Assists in the preparation of process maps, strategic plans, business plans and supporting materials, including tables, charts, graphs, maps, etc. using MS Office Suite, including Visio.
•Provides technical assistance to staff on use of computer software and databases, including provisioning of access and assisting with technical issues as required.
•Works with team members to plan, prepare and deliver special projects and events to promote health and wellness of the student body and University community.
•Responds to student, faculty and staff inquires via phone and/or email and escalates as appropriate to the Executive Director.
•Attends staff meetings and records meeting minutes.
•Participates in training programs, seminars, classes as assigned.
•Executes other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or senior leadership.

This is an onsite position; work for this role is performed on campus.
Qualifications:•Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field, required.
•Masters’ Degree, preferred.
•Minimum of 2 years related work experience, preferably in a clinical environment.
•Familiarity with health information and clinical data sets.
•Familiarity with requirements of HIPAA, FERPA and related regulations governing stewardship of data in clinical and academic settings.
•Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve overall efficiency to best meet the needs of the student population.
•Excellent written and communication skills.
•Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Detail-oriented individual who is self-motivated and a team player.
•Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment subject to multiple interruptions.
•Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with upmost discretion.
•Exceptional interpersonal communication and phone skills.
•Superior organizational skills and dedication to completing and diversity assigned projects in a timely manner.
