Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Dean of the School of Education is responsible for the effective leadership of academic operations, personnel management, resourcing, and outreach / engagement for all areas of the schools residential programs. The Dean will provide leadership for the school’s curricular initiatives, research and scholarship, professional training, and recruitment and retention of high quality faculty, staff, and student talent. The Dean is expected to provide exceptional leadership and overall direction to lead the school forward; work collaboratively with the faculty and staff and effectively and meaningfully engage the education community.

The Dean is also responsible for the school’s strategic planning, program evaluation and development, alumni engagement, fundraising, enrollment, retention, student persistence and completion, market planning, interdisciplinary initiatives in education and research, and the management of the school’s administrative and financial affairs.

As the chief academic officer of the School, the Dean also appoints department heads, oversees accreditation, develops new curricula and programs, and strengthens external relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Terminal degree in a discipline relevant to the academic programs – Demonstrated excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

- Strong commitment to developing a world-class program
- Record of success from the public or private sector

M-F 8-5pm
