Position Summary:

The Santa Barbara and Ventra Colleges of Law is currently seeking a Student Services Coordinator role at the Santa Barbara campus location.

The Student Services Coordinator plays a key role in how COL serves and supports its student population. The successful candidate is the first point-of-contact for our students, faculty, and guests at our Santa Barbara campus location. This role will have responsibility to support our broader Santa Barbara COL community in many campus needs and projects.

The successful candidate will be articulate, organized, dynamic, proactive, and an enthusiastic team member. The successful candidate has a keen sense of detail and is calm under pressure, both critical attributes for the event planning and campus coordination required for the role. The position will work closely with the Offices of the Executive Director, Dean and Chief Academic Officer, Program Manager and Registrar.

This position will report to the COL Registrar, and will be heavily involved in planning student activities, assisting students with a variety of needs, communicating with students about school policies and activities, working with students with disability accommodations, and maintaining and producing student records. The position will also require (when safety protocols permit), a regular presence at the COL Santa Barbara campus during posted business hours.

The Colleges of Law operates on a hybrid remote/in office work schedule. Employees have the opportunity to experience the collaborative work environment by being on campus while also enjoying the flexibility of having the option to periodically work remote. COL adheres to a 37.5 work week. The schedule is as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday: on-campus 10:00AM-6:30PM PST

Wednesday: on-campus 10:00AM- 5:00pm PST

Friday: By appointment, remote availability 10:00AM-5:00PM

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer skills, including proficiently with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Excellent customer service, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiasm for working independently
  • Ability to recruit and supervise staffing for facility and examination proctoring support
  • Skills in prioritizing and project managing assigned daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of related experience
