Organizational Unit Overview:SCHOOL OF MUSIC AND THE FOUR SEASONS CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL:
The School of Music, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication, has an enrollment of over 250 music majors and minors with over 60 faculty and staff. Now in its 22nd Season, The Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival brings internationally renowned musicians to North Carolina and beyond for concerts, community engagement and interactive initiatives throughout each year.
This position will be responsible for the management of Four Seasons’ artist/patron/corporate relations, and the management and implementation of Four Seasons’ marketing/publicity, community engagement and Next Generation initiatives. It is expected that the Director of Artist/Patron/Corporate Relations, Marketing, Community Engagement and Next Generation Initiatives will work closely with the Four Seasons Artistic/Executive Director and additional Four Seasons staff members to accomplish these duties. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Artist/Patron/Corporate Relations
- Serve as the point person for all communications with FS musicians
- Manage donor/patron relations and develop an increased amount of corporate sponsorship
- Coordinate and develop donor events and experiences, including day-of-concert experiences (in-person and online)
- Coordinate current and potential donor communications and manage the growth of Four Seasons’ donor base
- Coordinate all logistical aspects of donor cultivation and gift receipts
- Work with the Managing Director for Digital Content to create and maintain an excellent online/donor/patron experience
- Research and implement the most effective marketing plan for Four Seasons – as a whole and for specific concerts, residencies, initiatives and events
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all software, apps, and other mediums that will aid in carrying out and creating an excellent marketing plan
- Increase the number of Four Seasons ticket sales for concerts and applications for Next Generation initiatives
- Create and coordinate the production of all publicity materials (print, email, social media, etc…)
- Serve as the point person for all Four Seasons community engagement initiatives
- Manage, coordinate and develop current and new Four Seasons Community initiatives
- Develop, maintain and coordinate partnerships with organizations in Greenville, the Triangle and throughout North Carolina (examples of such organizations include Vidant Health, the city of Greenville, the city of Raleigh, retirement communities and schools)
- Develop and maintain productive relations with outside presenting organizations and partners
- Manage, coordinate and develop current and new Next Generation Initiatives (includes but is not limited to Winter Workshop, Next Gen on the Road, Next Gen Goes Solo, Master Teachers, The Master Class Initiative and the Summer Chamber Music Institute)
- Manage and coordinate all Next Generation initiative logistics (includes touring and room/board logistics)
- Manage and coordinate all communication with Next Generation musicians and participants
- Work with ECU Human Resources and support staff to coordinate required trainings and background checks
- Work with ECU string faculty, the ECU School of Music Assistant Director of Student Services and the ECU School of Music Director of Graduate Studies to coordinate string recruitment initiatives
- Coordinate and develop current, former and prospective ECU string student FS experience
- Coordinate Next Generation alum experience
- Participate in all Four Seasons budget creation and management
- Supervise and manage Four Seasons Associates (temps and students)
- Attend concerts, events and initiatives, including out-of-town concerts, events and initiatives
- Be available to participate in all online Four Seasons content
- Additional duties as assigned
This position is contingent upon available funding.Minimum Education/Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience in an administrative/managerial capacity including supervisory experience, or equivalent experience.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :N/A
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :Master’s Preferred
