Position Description:
UCLA Extension is considered one of the top programs of its kind, offering to more than 35,000 students per year approximately 4,500 classes and non-degree certificate programs to meet the professional development, continuing education and personal enrichment needs of the full spectrum of nontraditional students as well as companies and organizations throughout and beyond the Los Angeles region."

Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean Administration/CFO, the Assistant Dean of Student Services has responsibility to lead the integrated student services functions of UCLA Extension. Manages activities essential to designing, developing, planning, coordinating, and supervising a wide range of enrollment management and student activities and drives strategic planning for UCLA Extension in these areas. Strategic oversight of the units comprising Student Services: UCLA Extension Registrar's Office, including enrollment, academic awards/records, and privacy policies; Student Affairs Office (including Financial Aid, Career Services, Disability Services, Cashiers, Student Rights and Responsibilities, and Veterans' Services); which comprise of 26 personnel. Responsible for the development, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of UNEX's comprehensive enrollment management plan from the point of student inquiry to the achievement of educational goals. Charged with delivering service excellence and actively contributing to institution-wide enrollment, retention, persistence, and completion efforts. Responsible for developing and maintaining an operating budget of $2.5 million and the allocation of all departmental resources.

In the 2007 edition of U.S. News and World Report, UCLA Medical Center was ranked best in the West, as well as one of the top 3 hospitals in the United States alongside Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 15 of the 16 medical specialty areas examined, UCLA Medical Center ranked in the top 20.
