Primary Function

The primary function of this position in the School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders is to assist the Department Chair in the operations of the department. The person in this position reports directly to the Chair of the School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders through the School Office Administrator and Clinic Director. The Department Chair, Clinic Director, and Office Administrator participate in the evaluation process for this person.

Duties and Responsibilities (generally)

The primary function of the person holding this position is to assist in the direction of the academic and clinic programs and related administrative activities for the School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders under the direction of the Chair and Office Administrator. This position will help support the oversight of the school, and assist with faculty support, clinic support, and other school needs. This person must maintain contact with the College of Health and Human Sciences Advising and Dean’s Offices, the Graduate School, Human Resources, the Office of Registration and Records, as well as external entities. This person also has responsibility for handling confidential information and materials, including student academic records and patient records. This position utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, data base management, and other computer hardware and software and requires a good knowledge of computer use and applications.

It is not only essential for this employee to possess efficient office skills, but also to demonstrate effective communication skills. The employee must also act in a professional manner when dealing with personnel throughout the university and with the general public. The employee must also commit to promoting work and learning environments that foster creativity and innovation that are inclusive, equitable, and welcoming.

Employment is contingent upon your passing a criminal background investigation. Employee must also comply with program’s immunization policies.

Working Hours:

Typically M-F between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm based on department need; not to exceed 25 hours per week

$13.50

Required Skills:

high school diploma or equivalent
work experience performing office/clerical duties

Preferred Qualification:

Experience working in a clinic office setting;
Bilingual skills with the ability to professionally communicate in both languages to provide clinical information.
