MCC was recognized by the Aspen Institute in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019 as one of the nation's top community colleges, and serves as an anchor institution, safe haven, and economic driver for Flint, Genesee County, and beyond.
CAMPUS PROFILE
Mott's main campus is situated on the former grounds of the Charles Stewart Mott Estate. Students, employees and visitors love spending time on our beautifully landscaped and well-maintained acreage. The campus is located just east of downtown Flint, in the College/Cultural district. The Cultural Center is a 30-acre site offering enriching exhibits, performances, festivals and events educating over 600,000 visitors per year within the Flint Institute of Arts, Flint Institute of Music, Flint Repertory Theatre, Longway Planetarium, Sloan Museum, and The Whiting. The College is easily accessed by three interstate highways: I-75, I-69 and US-23. Bishop International Airport, is located ten minutes from the main campus. We are conveniently located about an hour from Ann Arbor, Lansing and Detroit. Those who enjoy a more rural, less hurried environment can travel "up north" within an hour. Our climate allows residents to enjoy year round activities. Flint & Genesee County has 11,000 acres of woods, waters, trails and beaches in Flint and Genesee County. Michigan has close to 38,575 miles of water bordering the state and 36,000 linear miles of rivers and streams. (Flint Chamber of Commerce website.)
