The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford seeks applications for the position of Assistant Dean of Student Affairs & Academic Progress. A commitment to working with a diverse student population is essential to this position. The Office of Student Affairs provides academic, registration and financial aid assistance, career, and residency application preparedness (including MSPE), and counseling support services to medical students. In addition, it coordinates all major Student Affairs events and programming. The successful candidate would supervise these activities as well as oversee the day-to-day functions within the Office of Student Affairs. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
Candidates for this position must have a minimum of a master’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field; minimum of five years’ experience in high level administration in an institution of higher education; and knowledge of laws and policies relating to FERPA, Title IX, and the Clery Act. An MD or its foreign equivalent, EdD or PhD and prior medical school administrative experience are preferred.
