Job Details
Provide excellent customer service throughout the Academic Standards area in all interactions with faculty, staff, and students. Represents the Academic Standards area as first line of contact, provides information to external and internal populations requiring knowledge of institutional policies and procedures. Serve as the initial office contact by answering and screening phone calls, responding to emails (office maildrop and individual email), and navigating student walk-ins. Field inquiries regarding appeals, transfer work, and general procedures. Compose responses to general inquiries regarding academic standards. Oversee administrative archiving of materials in ImageNow. Develops, implements, and maintains record keeping of sensitive documents and electronic based filing systems for various processes in the Academic Standards area. Receive and serve as initial reviewer of all undergraduate petitions and course third attempt petitions. Review electronic DocuSign petitions and determine initial eligibility by reviewing equivalencies in the online Transfer Evaluation System (TES) and student records. Review DocuSign third attempt petitions and communicate with academic departments to review petitions. Oversee archiving of petitions in ImageNow. Assist with researching, analyzing, and summarizing student appeals for bi-monthly Academic Standards Committee meetings involving sensitive and confidential information. Assist with tracking and maintaining an electronic database for details concerning appeals, including Committee's decisions. Convert all appeals to PDF documents to provide to Committee members. Gather and consolidate background information concerning appeals when needed. Provide support with end of term academic processing, including overseeing all end of term processing for third attempts of courses via Excel spreadsheets and PeopleSoft. Assist with compiling data, system coding, and notifications to students. Coordinates with the Associate Director to manage the administration of student records and graduate registration related to the accelerated bachelor's to graduate degree programs. Process exceptions for this special population and in data collection/review on a semesterly basis. Support the Assistant Director with the semesterly athletic compliance processes, including review of records, compiling and entering data, and correspondence with other offices. Facilitate the internal grade change audit to confirm necessary documentation is on file to support grade changes. Support Assistant Directors, Office Manager, and other units within the Registrar's Office with special projects, including performing research and compiling, editing, and revising reports.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree.
- One year experience in administrative staff work.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- The ability to problem solve and think flexibly.
- Strong organizational and record keeping skills, as well as an eye for detail.
- Skill in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Navigation, Word Processing, and Spreadsheets.
- Experience with PeopleSoft, Perceptive Content, and DocuSign.
- Higher education experience.
