Job Description:

The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research ( and the University of Florida College of Pharmacy ( invite applications for the Assistant Dean of the Orlando Campus. The position is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month faculty position at the rank of Clinical Associate or Full Professor (non-tenure-track). This is an exciting opportunity to join the PTR faculty at the Lake Nona campus of the College of Pharmacy, located in Orlando.

The Assistant Dean at the Lake Nona campus (AD-LN) is expected to work with the department and college in a collaborative, inclusive, and transparent manner while providing leadership and day-to-day oversight of the operations and activities at the campus. The AD-LN facilitates the operations and management of the synchronous Doctor of Pharmacy program. The AD-LN collaborates with campus PTR faculty to meet the operational needs for academic program delivery and supervises and assigns duties to the professional and administrative staff located at the campus. The AD-LN assists with the recruitment and development of faculty and staff at the Lake Nona campus. The AD-LN develops and maintains professional relationships with stakeholders in the Orlando area. The AD-LN serves as a member of the College’s Executive Committee, the PharmD Leadership Team, and other committees at the school and university, as required. The AD-LN reports to the Associate Dean for Professional Education concerning administrative responsibilities and the Chair of the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research concerning faculty responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching, patient care, and scholarship. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to teach in the didactic, skills laboratory, and/or experiential components of the PharmD program; advise students and student organizations; maintain a clinical practice/service; and conduct scholarly activity. The clinical practice opportunities include ambulatory care with an innovative Telehealth model.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants should have a PharmD with post-graduate training (residency, fellowship, or equivalent experience) and the accomplishments and experience that merit appointment as a Clinical Associate or full Professor. Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:Previous leadership or management experience with keen attention to detail; a track record of sustained scholarship; excellent problem-solving and organizational skills; the ability to participate actively in decision-making at all levels, and then support the ultimate decision even if it was not their preferred option; the ability to serve as a role model for faculty and staff, as exemplified by a positive attitude and consistent presence at the campus.Special Instructions to Applicants:
