The HVAC Technician is responsible for testing, repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment on the Mottman and Lacey campuses. The position will support college efforts toward sustainability and energy conservation. This position will also serve in the role of maintenance mechanic as needed.

What You'll Do
Perform the work of an HVAC Technician:
- Install, maintain, diagnosis and repair HVAC equipment
- Analyze and maintain building systems, equipment, and conditions; proficient in HVAC mechanical and control systems.
- Monitor and adjust building heating and cooling; work closely with Energy and Resource Management Program Coordinator to achieve best result
- Operate and maintain testing instruments and equipment
Perform duties of a maintenance mechanic; provide support to other Facilities staff:
- Create, monitor, review and close out assigned CMMS work orders
- Participate in capital projects/meetings related to HVAC needs
- Assist with grant and other incentive programs
- Qualifications You Possess
Minimum Qualifications:
- Five years’ experience as a HVAC Technician or equivalent education/experience.
- Collaborative -- The ability to work in culturally diverse groups toward a common goal by involving, including and valuing others.
- Critical Thinking -- The ability to use inductive and deductive reasoning to understand diverse perspectives.
- Valid Driver’s License required
Preferred Qualifications:- Certified under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act (Refrigerant handling)
- Strong commitment to customer service.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and written.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently, perform multiple tasks and accommodate interruptions.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Computer skills – MS Office; CMMS; HVAC Control Systems
- Read and interpret blueprints
