Our programs and technologies are ever-evolving to meet ever-changing needs; our high level of service and support is a constant.” SDSU Global Campus serves as a principal University liaison with the greater San Diego community and provides a wide variety of traditional and nontraditional, credit and noncredit educational experiences designed to fit the lifestyle and expectations of working adults and other lifelong learners. In addition, Global Campus provides a range of academic and special programs for individuals and groups at various times, in various locations, and via various modalities, including technology based programs -- throughout the year. The primary audiences include workforce, military, working adults and international constituencies.

Under the general direction of the Director of International Services, the International Services Coordinator will assist with the day to day management of the International Services office. The International Services Coordinator has responsibility for administrative, legal and student support services of SDSU Global Campus international programs. This position while within the organization of Global Campus operates as part of the International Programs team. This function will assist the student through the entire enrollment process, including but not limited to processing and maintaining new student applications, and assisting new applicants with inquiries about the application process and immigration issues. This position is also responsible for advising and monitoring current ALI students on admissions and immigration issues. They will work hand-in-hand with the other functions as liaison with students, and connect students

to other departments as necessary.


Responsibilities
Student Advising and Support – 40%
  • Act as primary advisor for all prospective students applying to international programs and all current students with admissions or F-1 visa related questions.
  • Answer student inquiries via phone, walk-ins and emails regarding online application process; assist international students with specific requirements for international admission.
  • Maintain tracking systems such as Salesforce CRM in order to follow-up with each prospective student when needed.
  • Work with campus departments on behalf of students to research and resolve academic, disciplinary, legal and financial aid issues.
  • Establish methods of performing assigned tasks; coordinate the office workflow and set priorities and deadlines, subject to supervisor approval.

Admissions – 35%
  • Review prospective student files and make final admissions decisions; advise applicants on issues with admission.
  • Answer application status inquiries regarding deferrals, cancellations, continuing, etc.
  • Assist with miscellaneous pre-screening needs under the direction of the program director.
  • Issue I-20 forms to newly admitted students; advise students on the F-1 visa process when needed.
  • Help ensure students are in compliance with CSU Health Insurance requirements.

F-1 Student Compliance – 20%
  • Assist with SEVIS registration at the start of each program/term; utilize the International Student and Scholar Management (ISSM) system to batch registrations and other legal updates.
  • Provide updates to student legal records as needed; help maintain student files in compliance with federal regulations and SEVP guidance.
  • Provide travel authorization signatures to students wanting to travel abroad during their course of study.

MISC – 5%
  • Performs other duties as assigned which may arise from the changing and evolving nature of SDSU Global Campus


Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in related field. Specialized experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis;

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Two-years of professional student services work experience or related field; a masters' degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one-year of professional experience.

Desired Qualifications
  • Previous work experience working on a university/college campus
  • Past work experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Prior work experience as a Designated School Official (DSO)
