About Westchester Community College:
Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. The Marketing & Communications Assistant/Senior Graphic Illustrator will provide support services to the Office of Creative Communications and the larger department of Strategic Marketing & Communications. This team player will be assigned tasks by the Director of Creative Communications, in support of those areas. Major responsibilities are the direct support/assistance to the Creative Communications Manager and Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications, which may include all of or some of the following - creation and submission of requisitions, submitting and tracking invoices, developing contracts, organizing and tagging digital files in shared locations, assisting scheduling and supervising photo shoots, taking photos, editing photos in Photoshop and Lightroom. The incumbent will also serve as backup to the Creative Communications Office during their vacation periods. This person may also handle the creation of some publications with minimal supervision.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a high school or equivalency diploma and four years of technical experience in illustration, graphic design or desktop publishing, which must have included experience in the design and production of a variety of visual materials, is required. We are seeking a team member who can support the other individuals in the office. The successful candidate must possess strong organizational skills and be comfortable behind a camera or overseeing a photo shoot. They must also possess solid communication and analytical skills and be familiar with using a workflow management system. Solid knowledge of Windows-based office software and procedures, good knowledge of computers, and knowledge of Windows required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Technical experience in photography is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Tableau is a plus. Experience in the use of a DSLR camera, photo manipulation and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software is also preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule is Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $55,823 plus competitive benefits.
